I’ve only shot a handful of rolls with it so far, and I already managed to lose the most important one by somehow loading it wrong.\n\nI flew from Austria to California for work and took the OM-1 with me. After I got back, I was rewinding my second and last roll in a café and something felt off. When it hit the “end” and I opened the camera, the film was still there, fully exposed. Closed the camera. Instant panic.\n\nI took it to a lab. They got the film out, but it looked like it was still at the starting position. So I assumed, again, that I’d loaded it wrong.\n\nTurns out… I hadn’t. The photos survived. I don’t know exactly what happened though.\n\nI almost cried when I thought I’d lost them. I don’t get to spend time in California often… Almost cried again when I saw the scans. And then again while looking through them, remembering the sounds, smells, wind, and the exact moments each photo was taken.\n\nAnyway, I just wanted to share the relief of seeing these images.
