So far my biggest struggle is exposing the image correctly.  I often underexpose, especially in high-contrast scenes.  So do i expose for the shadows?  The shadows seem to get grainy quickly if they are not exposed for. \n\nAlso, do I shoot at box speed?  On the Portra, I had it set to 100, and it seemed to work well.
