I had just seen 'Stand by Me' at the cinema and was inspired by the four boys to wander through the deserted landscape of Wolfsburg with my camera. At that time, the train line heading toward Wolfsburg Main Station wasn't very busy, so you could walk along the tracks undisturbed for quite a while. Eventually, I had the idea to place my little Nikon camera right on the rail and use the self-timer.
