I've the luck to live in a beautiful area, so I was traversing my (relatively speaking) local neighbourhood in search of photographic inspiration.\n\n\n\nSharing some of the photos taken during the 17 day trip - 10 rolls of 120 film, 3 lenses, 1 camera (well technically 2 because I carry my digital body for metering).\n\n\n\nMost of these were taken around Bosnia&Herzegovina, some in Croatia - mostly with Portra 160. \n\n\n\nLenses: 50mm | 80mm | 150mm (rarely used, but was useful, I was glad to have it at times).\n\n\n\n1.) Portra 160, 50mm: Waterfalls of river Kozica, BiH. Searched for them across two days because it's a relatively remote area, and poorly marked. Ended up finding it wading barefoot through the shallow rapids from downstream. Only after did I find the correct path, for the way back to the car. Wanted to find it earlier in the morning for more diffuse light, but turned out alright.\n\n\n\n2.) Portra 160, 150mm: Strong storm with striking light brewing over Pelješac, Croatia.\n\n\n\n3.) Portra 160: Sunrise from an overlook near Veliki Vilinac peak, BiH.\n\n\n\n4.) Portra 160: Tekija in Blagaj, BiH. At this time of year, found empty only early in the morning.\n\n\n\n5.) Portra 160, 50mm: Old Bridge in Mostar and the life around it, BiH.\n\n\n\n6.) Portra 160: Kozica again. Ample photographic opportunity there.\n\n\n\n7.) Portra 160: Veliki Vilinac again, likely only minutes later after the 3rd shot.\n\n\n\n8.) Portra 160: A view from an overlook on Pelješac, Croatia.\n\n\n\n9.) Ektar, 50mm: Overlooking Ramsko Lake, BiH, at dawn.\n\n\n\n10.) Portra 160, 80mm: You guessed it - Kozica. While I was searching for the big ones.\n\n\n\n11.) Portra 160, 50mm: A hidden overlook I accidentally found while exploring, city of Konjic, in the valley bellow, BiH.\n\n\n\n12.) Ektar 100, 150mm: Breaking dawn from the Ramsko Lake overlook.\n\n\n\n13.) Portra 160: Rastoke, Croatia. First photo of the trip on my way down to BiH.\n\n\n\n14.) Portra 160: Martin Brod, BiH. This location surpassed my expectation, it's so unique, I have never seen anything similar.\n\n\n\n15.) Portra 160: Nice light of a road south of Bihać, somewhere... I have no clue. BiH.\n\n\n\n16.) Portra 160: View from the Old Bridge, Mostar. \n\n\n\n17.) Portra 160, Kozica: Dutch angle landscapes, deal with it. (I messed up the framing)\n\n\n\n18.) Portra 160, 50mm: Počitelj, BiH. Very interesting location.\n\n\n\n19.) Portra 160: Old Walls of Dubrovnik, Croatia.\n\n\n\n20.) Portra 160, 50mm: View from Sv. Ilija, highest peak of Pelješac.\n\n\n\nWas an exciting adventure, I feel like I learned a lot on how to approach different aspects of a landscape photography trip: \n\n\\- 6 liters of water is not enough for 2 day hikes during the summer\n\n\\- I should ideally keep the routes under 10km distance and 1000m elevation carrying a 20-25kg backpack, otherwise I need more than a day to recuperate, spending valuable time\n\n\\- Scouting a location beforehand and visualizing where the light will be vastly improved my chances of getting something good\n\n\\- When Mother Nature is angry, you hide. Got caught in a storm on a mountain peak, thunder struck entirely too close for me to be comfortable. No shots are worth my life, learn to abort mission if your instincts are even slightly flaring.\n\n\\- Rising before the sun is actually pretty nice once the body gets used to a shifted sleep schedule, there is no more serene time of day than the minutes just before sun breaking the horizon\n\n\\- Clouds are some of my best buddies. I often find it compositionally necessary to include the sky in my landscapes, having clouds puts additional interesting elements in an otherwise empty part of the frame (this is probably obvious to many). They also sometimes produce very obvious light rays when the sun is low above the horizon, making for otherworldy views.\n\n\\- BiH is a beautiful country. It's my next door and yet this was my first time there.\n\n\\- People are in fact capable of staying up and  drinking all night to 6 AM. In my mind, this dedication is worth an applause.\n\n\\- When on a location for the first time, best not to stick too tightly to any preconceived compositions / subject matter. Try to be open for what nature has to offer, whatever it may be.\n\n\n\nAll in all a fun experience, 10/10, will go again - thinking Norway next summer.\n\n","score":660,"nsfw":false,"grayscale":false,"timestamp":1756895024,"sprocket":false,"camera_make":"mamiya","camera_model":"7ii","film_make":"kodak","film_type":"portra 160","film_speed":160,"focal_length":50,"images":[{"resolution":"low","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/025ce002-a271-43e2-a355-8e9a65cfc21e.jpeg","width":581,"height":720},{"resolution":"medium","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/a492e25d-1f73-4581-a82c-a787acbbb610.jpeg","width":871,"height":1080},{"resolution":"high","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/ec5269eb-2f61-4bc8-979c-86eae8012e9a.jpeg","width":1162,"height":1440},{"resolution":"raw","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/ccb16785-b52a-49e4-8627-e5def0499ae9.jpeg","width":2017,"height":2500}],"colors":[{"hex":"#060203","css":"black","html":"black","percent":0.36417261},{"hex":"#bccce5","css":"lightsteelblue","html":"teal","percent":0.18882997},{"hex":"#928268","css":"grey","html":"gray","percent":0.15336166},{"hex":"#353533","css":"darkslategray","html":"gray","percent":0.15267112},{"hex":"#818aa7","css":"lightslategrey","html":"gray","percent":0.14096465}],"keywords":[{"word":"portra","weight":0.25},{"word":"ektar","weight":0.25},{"word":"mamiya","weight":0.25},{"word":"vacation","weight":0.25}]}
