After witnessing a glorious sunrise from Tunnel View and meandering through all the famous places, I ended up at this other famous spot along the Merced River.  The light was just perfect, casting a warm glow on the glorious mountains.\n\nI shot this with arguably Canon’s greatest SLR they ever made.  For the unaware, it was the last SLR they made before the 1Ds came out; the digital counterpart kept similar ergonomics and incredible build quality.  This camera is literally a brick, especially the HS (high speed) version which shoots at 12 frames per second.\n\nI tamed the reflections, and deepened the greens using a Hoya Pro1D circular polariser.\n\nI had originally given up on processing this as the scans from my Epson V700 were just… meh.  I took advantage of the Black Friday sales and purchased a Canon R5 Mark II along with some lenses.  Coupled with Negative Lab Pro, I am blown away by what is possible.  This is my first digital camera since 2012 when I bought a 5D Mark III.\n\nI’d always heard about Yosemite’s beauty, but seeing it with my own eyes was truly something else.  I hope this photograph captures a glimpse of the awe-inspiring nature of this place.\n\nTech details:\n\nScanning camera: Canon R5 Mark II\nScanning lens: Canon RF 100mm Macro f/2.8L IS USM\nCopy stand: DispoStudio TriStand (backed the Kickstarter)\nLight source: CineStill CS-Lite\nConversion software: Negative Lab Pro","score":352,"nsfw":false,"grayscale":false,"timestamp":1734786684,"sprocket":false,"images":[{"resolution":"low","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/c3c217d6-abb0-4652-99ba-88b4594ba441.jpeg","width":720,"height":480},{"resolution":"medium","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/d21ee757-64fc-4236-aa0b-ee0d939d6d57.jpeg","width":1080,"height":720},{"resolution":"high","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/445b7815-a7f6-4586-b0ae-e05c2fcabef3.jpeg","width":1440,"height":960},{"resolution":"raw","url":"https://d3i73ktnzbi69i.cloudfront.net/624c2575-5952-4def-983b-4fb81247c38a.jpeg","width":1440,"height":960}],"colors":[{"hex":"#130f0e","css":"black","html":"black","percent":0.36960359},{"hex":"#635f60","css":"dimgray","html":"gray","percent":0.26507812},{"hex":"#c7d2e4","css":"lightgray","html":"gray","percent":0.15793403},{"hex":"#2e331d","css":"darkslategray","html":"gray","percent":0.08310185},{"hex":"#b6a095","css":"rosybrown","html":"brown","percent":0.03097512}],"keywords":[{"word":"canon","weight":0.19984076},{"word":"yosemite","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"eos-1v","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"kodak","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"usm","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"hs","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"river","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"ektar","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"merced","weight":0.09992038},{"word":"man","weight":0.00039809},{"word":"road","weight":0.00039809}]}
